…more vague concept stuff.
Here’s a little bit of a line test for a 3 minute piece I’m working on at the moment. Designs are by Marie Thorhauge, most of the animation was done by Sean Mccarron and Svend Bonde, I directed & storyboarded the animatic and animated the first three shots (because my board was too horrendously rough to hand them off). It was great fun to interpret a lovely old song called An Greasai Brog. The singer is Muireann Nic Amhlaibh, the song is produced by Iarla O’Lionard & Kieran Lynch. It’s for a documentary produced in association with Sonta which will be broadcast next Christmas on TG4 where traditional Irish songs are recorded afresh and the Carton Saloon get to animate to each of them.
Though the budget and schedule are tight the guys working with me know how to make a very small budget look good. I used Flash for the first few shots but the guys used TV Paint. There are 10 other songs at various stages of production with various teams & individuals directing, designing, animating on each of them. .

Here’s a picture I took & treated of a great gargoyle in a place called Castle Oliver in Limerick. A bit spooky. I ran away after taking the picture.

Here’s a doll I made from clay, then I painted her, made her some clothes… dirtied her up, buried her, dug her up. Now she’s in my living room… staring at me. She’s for a project in development.
This is a small extract from a spoof commercial I made back in 2004. The character design I murdered was Aidan Harte’s and the snot was animated by Jeremy Purcell. It was a bit of an odd project.

My main ambition in life is to walk without moving my hair…not that this is supposed to be me. I have feet.
